Fourth clash between two titans of Italian and international volleyball. Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano visits Savino del Bene Scandicci for the 10th day of the second round of the Regular Season of Serie A1 Tigotà, after the challenges of Villorba, San Paolo and Turin the two teams meet at the Pala BigMat in Florence. First against second in the standings, the Panthers are strong by a margin of 4 points.

""

Parade of stars in the initial sextets: coach Daniele Santarelli chooses Wolosz on the dribble and Haak opposite, Gabi and Zhu are the spikers, Fahr and Lubian play in the center, De Gennaro is the libero. In the other half of the head, coach Gaspari opts for Ognjenovic as a playmaker with Antropova closing the diagonal, Skinner and Bosetti are the 4 places, Weitzel and Nwakalor the middle, Castillo is the libero. Brunelli and Zavater referee, the Pala BigMat is sold out.

""

Tuscan start, Bosetti helps himself with the net to find the ace of 8-5, Haak takes over the team and equalizes the accounts (8-8). The first yellow-blue advantage comes with Wolosz’s winning serve (10-11), a very long push and pull of an exciting period begins that respects the scope of the big match. Panthers break point with an opponent’s error for 17-18, Haak blocks for 20-22, Antropova takes the serve and leads Scandicci to a long series of set points: partial to record advantages, De Gennaro also scores with a first touch (31-32, free MVP of the match), Zhu delivers three balls in a row for the advantage, the Panthers cancel 10 set points and go ahead with a monumental Haak (41-43, 13 centers with 48% in attack for the Swede). Spectacle and adrenaline Prosecco DOC, it is the longest set of the A1 season, the fifth ever in the league and the most hard-fought in the history of Conegliano.

""

Lubian slips two in a row on the fast lifted by captain Wolosz, Gabi grinds to the sound of hands out and the Panthers create a mini-gap in the second set (8-12, 11 points for the Brazilian with 48% in attack). Antropova is Ognjenovic’s certainty but Lubian blocks her way to 11-15, Haak also finds the measures from 9 meters (12-18). Fahr guards well at the net (16-22), Bosetti does not give up even at the end of the partial, Antropova draws the ace to reopen the set (20-22), Lubian chases away the bad thoughts by signing the 0-2 (22-25, 4 points attacking at 100% in the second for the Olympic champion).

""

The 2-6 with which the Panthers approach the set is thanks to Zhu and Fahr, the net smiles at Scandicci even when he beats Antropova, Zhu has infinite solutions from place 4 (blocked for 9-16, 17 tokens with 3 printed for the Chinese superstar). Bechis and Ruddins are the new solutions for coach Gaspari, but Scandicci is inaccurate and on the turn at the service of Lubian the Prosecco DOC escapes on 14-21. And, for a change, Haak does not lose his polish (top scorer with 28 points and only 2 errors in 49 attacks), Daalderop strengthens the second line: the matchpoint comes with an error on the service of the hosts, Conegliano at +7 in the standings.

""

The Panthers’ journey in the championship continues in Florence, on Tuesday 10 February at 7 pm in the same sports hall the match against Il Bisonte will be played. Return of Prosecco DOC to the Palaverde on Sunday 15 February at 4 pm for the match against Perugia, Saturday 21 the Regular Season ends again in Villorba against Monviso Volley, kick-off at 8.30 pm. For both matches, online pre-sale, info and tickets are already open on Vivaticket.com.
