Prosecco DOC still in Florence. The Panthers face Il Bisonte for the 11th day of the second round of Serie A1 Tigotà with a match-ball to mathematically win the Regular Season. It is the third yellow-blue match in the space of three days in the Tuscan capital, it is still played at the Pala BigMat after Sunday’s prestigious victory against Scandicci. Il Bisonte is mathematically safe and is in full play-off fight with three days to go.

""

Rotations for coach Daniele Santarelli, who within a busy calendar chooses a new sextet: Ewert plays in the direction, Adigwe is the opposite, Gabi and Sillah are the wings, Lubian and Munarini are the middles, De Gennaro is the libero. On the other side, coach Chiavegatti deploys the diagonal Morello-Bukilic, Knollema and Tanase are the spikers, Acciarri and Malesevic are the middles, Valoppi is the libero.

""

Compact and attentive Panthers at the start, Gabi’s venomous serve and a mistake by Florence open the initial 1-5. Adigwe begins to fuel from seat 2 and from 9 meters, his first ace of the match that is worth 3-10; Lubian signs up for the match, Malesevic is an obstacle on the wall and Sillah imitates her to give the maximum advantage to the Panthers (8-16). Knollema is the hammer of the hosts, Munarini gives away 8 set points available (6 points and 2 blocks for the middle blocker at the end), Adigwe capitalizes on the second opportunity (17-25, Meme is dominant with 7 points, 1 ace, 2 blocks and 80% of the attacks on target).

""

De Gennaro is an additional playmaker and offers Sillah a very valuable inverted bagher to attack, Adigwe leads the opponent’s bench to call the first time-out of the second set (1-6). Ewert gives rhythm to the offensive maneuvers, Bukilic puts an end to the yellow-blue partial of 5-0 (3-11), Daalderop strengthens the reception of the Panthers and Gabi shakes the attack (11-17). Sillah is explosive and also thunders with the serve (14-23, 15 points and 1 block for the MVP of the evening), Scognamillo contains the reception by arming set point of Gabi’s 0-2 (16-25, 13 points with 50% and only 1 error for the Brazilian).

""

The first exchange of the third set is exciting and leads to another point by Gabi, Florence fights to stay in the match (4-4). Zuccarelli finds 2 aces and the Panthers have to mend (10-8), with Munarini and Sillah Conegliano regains the advantage (12-14). Daalderop returns to give cover, Adigwe’s diagonal is to be applauded, while his ace smacks of a definitive escape after a hard-fought partial (14-20, opposite top scorer with 19 points and 5 blocks). So it will be, it is Sillah who sanctions the final victory (18-25).

""

With today’s victory, the Panthers win the A1 Regular Season for the seventh time in a row, excluding the 19-20 season, the ninth in their history. The first place ensures participation in the next CEV Champions League for the twelfth season since the club’s foundation to date, the eleventh in a row.

The Panthers return to the Palaverde on Sunday 15 February at 4 pm for the championship match against Perugia; last of the Regular Season on Saturday 21 February always at home, kick-off at 20.30 for the match against Monviso Volley.
