Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco in raptures: at the first of the championship the Panthers beat Granda Volley Cuneo 3-0 and begin the path to protect the tricolor. Coach Santarelli grants the debut to the 5 new faces of the summer, in a match that consecrates Merit Adigwe as MVP (awarded by the sponsor day Latteria Soligo represented by president Lorenzo Brugnera) of the match thanks to 14 points, top scorer of the match together with a brilliant Zhu Ting. The Palaverde applauds and pays tribute to Raffa Folie with a banner, on his return to the Panthers’ den after 4 years.

""

For the first at the Palaverde, coach Daniele Santarelli deploys Di on the dribble, Adigwe opposite, Zhu and Sillah spikers, Cekulaev and Manfredini central, De Gennaro is the libero.

For the Cuneo cats, coach Tisci chooses Signorile, Grafort, Tikhomirova, Pucelj, Koulisiani, Ferrarini and Magnani libero.

""

Overwhelming start of the Panthers who, taking advantage of a profitable service turn by Manfredini (8 points, 2 aces and 1 block for the blue), scratch up to 8-1, Zhu is punctual both on the block and in attack. The same center finally scores in attack (12-6), in the middle of Adigwe’s show (6 points with 75%, Yao Di leads an attack from 1 error in the pertial) Sillah also unlocks (15-7). Grafort scouts Granda Volley (18-10), Arici debuts to give depth in the second line, Sillah’s 22-12 is a breathless exchange that enhances the Palaverde: it is always the Slovenian who takes advantage of the first of 12 set balls for Prosecco DOC (25-13).

""

""

It is always the start to mark the second partial on the side of the Panthers: Manfredini with the ace fixes the 5-0, Koulisiani does the same for the 6-4 that puts Cuneo back on track, Cekulaev repels the assaults on the wall (8-4). The German also extends the break to 7-0 for 12-5 (4 points with 100% attack in the second set for the debutant) , Pucelj scratches and decreases the disadvantage (15-9), Piovesan is the move to give life behind (16-10), when Manfredini places his second winning serve coach Tisci calls the second time-out (18-10). Coach Santarelli makes Haak and Wolosz breathe the air of the court again, the Swede stings with 23-14: Di raises Manfredini’s fast of 25-16, it’s 2-0.

""

""

The sextet of the day is back for the third set, a couple of yellow-blue errors open a mini-advantage to Cuneo (1-3): coach Santarelli calls the videocheck that delivers the point to Zhu, then Signorile of the second clears the defense, Adigwe grabs the equalizer (6-6). De Gennaro multiplies in the second line and Cekulaev bites for the first advantage in the third (9 centers in the match for the German), then Grafort blocks and it’s a break Granda Volley (10-12). Four in a row by Zhu and Cuneo time-out (14-12), Wolosz and Haak take over the diagonal and Arici cleans the second line, but it is Sillah who signs (20-16), Magnani is everywhere but the push of Prosecco DOC is incessant: there is the hand of De Gennaro and Arici in the 22-17 of Manfredini, the yellow-blue matchpoint is signed by Haak (25-20).
