Mission accomplished forA.Carraro Imoco Volleyball also in its first European trip to Bulgaria, in Plovdiv, for the second round of Pool A of the Champions League. After last week’s home win over Mladost Zagreb, Coach Santarelli’s team confirmed its lineage as reigning champions by routing the Bulgarian women’s field, despite the fact that only 48 hours earlier in Chieri the Panthers were coming off a tough league battle. Taking advantage of the large roster available, however, theA.Carraro Imoco in “turnover” version gave equally no chance to the opponents, bringing home with a match of substance the goal of victory also on this second day, which confirms the Panthers’ unbeaten season.
Starting lineup in Plovdiv with coach Santarelli fielding starting Nanami Seki diagonally with Haak, Lukasik setter with Zhu, centers Lubian and Chirichella, libero Anna Bardaro.
Also on the scoreboard were Zhu, leading the way with 14 points, and with her among the top scorers of the Bulgarian evening were Lukasik and Haak with 11 points apiece.
