STATEMENTS COACH DANIELE SANTARELLI
Home or away, like even on Wednesday in Resovia or last Friday in Milan, it’s always sold out for the Panthers, how do you feel about these constant crowd baths? “It’s a great pride and a wonderful feeling. To see that everywhere we play there is enthusiasm and admiration for this team is a chilling feeling, we always see in the stands so many people wearing our jersey and our colors, at the end of the game everyone asks us for photos and autographs, there is crazy enthusiasm for these girls and we try to reciprocate all this attention because it is an honor for us. The Panthers are telling their story everywhere in Italy and Europe, and we are proud of how the volleyball people are receiving it.”
After the tough match in Champions in Resovia, another tough obstacle in the league with Novara on Sunday at Palaverde: “I knew it would be a tough game in Poland, they are a very good team and at home they give their best as we saw. I warned the girls that it would not be an easy match, we started well then they were good at not giving up and surprise us in the third set, but in the end we are satisfied with the excellent win and Resovia’s performance. Let’s not be surprised by the difficulties because these are tough teams and we learned once again that in Champions every match hides its pitfall.”
Now Igor Novara, a “classic” opponent in the league: “Novara is certainly a top team in our tournament, it is a team with many important players, capable of any result. They have alternatives, deep bench and strong forwards, an arsenal full of dangerous weapons that we will have to prepare to face with the utmost care. After Milan and Resovia another tough match for my team, important for us because beyond the heavy points available in the standings, these matches against high-level opponents prepare us for the next goal, which is the Club World Cup, now just around the corner.”
