Second chapter of the championship challenge in the evocative setting of the Assago Forum, in front of 12,000 spectators enter the field for the Italian champions coach Santarelli deploys captain Wolosz on the dribble, opposite the MVP of game 1 Isabelle Haak, central Fahr and Chirichella, spikers the Brazilian Gabi and the Chinese Zhu, free the living legend Moki De Gennaro. The fiery atmosphere exalts the Panthers who equalize with Zhu and Haak, then Fahr’s ace (4 points, 3/3 in attack in the set) silences the Forum. Partial of 6-1 and Prosecco DOC Imoco ahead 13-14, this time it is Milan to ask for time out. It continues point by point until the minibreak of Chirichella who goes strong on the block (15-17). Sylla replies, then Lukasik enters the second line and the yellow-blue defense favored by an excellent passive block gives balls to Wolosz who first with Gabi and then with Haak finds the understanding (16-19). The reception works well, De Gennaro and her teammates defend the advantage from the assaults of Numia and close ahead with the shots of an inspired Zhu Ting (7 points and 70% in attack in the set): 22-25 the first set.

At the start of the second set, Sylla (attack) and Danesi (block) try to launch the hosts (3-0) who take advantage of the moment and try to insist. Again the block, this time by Kurtagic, gives the +5 (7-2) to Numia. Gabi tries with her flashes of class (6-9), but Egonu hammers and keeps the hosts ahead. Two aces by Gabi give oxygen to the Panthers who return to -1 (11-10), but Egonu on the block asserts himself and Milan goes back up (13-10). With patience Wolosz and her teammates weave their web and Gabi’s feats, seasoned by the deadly first halves of Fahr and Chirichella allow Conegliano to reach and overcome Milan (15-16).

The match is exciting and spectacular, now it’s up to Egonu to take back the stage, but after De Gennaro’s defenses in attack it is Gabi the lighthouse in the second set (7 total points in a set played as a superstar in the first and second line), his 18-19. Lukasik enters and defends, Haak scores and Prosecco DOC Imoco, after having seen it bad at the start, stretches decisively: 18-20. Numia does not keep up with the yellow-blue pace and makes a couple of bloody errors (18-22), now coach Santarelli’s team can administer the game and the result with the wisdom of Wolosz and De Gennaro to dictate the law on the court. Fahr walls, Cazaute as soon as she enters tries a jolt, but Prosecco DOC Imoco closes with ease 20-25 and goes ahead 2-0 in a Forum where now only the yellow-blue fans can be heard.

The third set is the last resort for Milan, but the Italian champions with the score in favor show confidence and effectiveness in all the fundamentals, continuing as in game 1 to make very few mistakes and to maintain great concreteness: Haak (9p in the set, 17 total) and Zhu (11p in the end), relentless tonight, push and the beginning is all yellow-blue (3-7). Put on the ropes, the Lombards try to get closer again, but the Panthers are “on a mission” and have no intention of looking back. Gabi (8p also in the third set)nprotagonist of an incredible match puts on a show by scoring in … dribble after a monstrous defense by Moki De Gennaro, then Zhu fed in the second line by Wolosz shoots and Haak completes the work: 7-13 and the match in the safe. From there it is almost a catwalk for the yellow-blue battleship, Gabi (MVP with 19 points and 57% in attack) continues to hammer and the clear victory arrives (18-25) which gives a serene Easter to his fantastic fans after a great demonstration of strength that directs the championship final series to 2-0.
