For the fourth consecutive season, Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano will use the inexhaustible energy of Marina Lubian.
The 192 cm Piedmontese central player, born in 2000, will still wear the yellow-blue number 9 jersey after conquering everything at the Palaverde and achieving consecration with Olympic gold with the Azzurre in the summer of 2024.
Idol of the fans for her intensity, all-rounder resource for coach Daniele Santarelli, Marina embodies the values of the club and represents a fundamental pawn for the yellow-blue chessboard. The 25-year-old from Moncalieri has walked the path of the predestined that led her to the volleyball elite: from the nest of Lilliput to the forge of talents of Club Italia, before moving on to wear the jersey of Scandicci, still 19 years old. She arrived at Palaverde in the summer of 2022, fresh from winning the Challenge Cup in Tuscany, the world bronze medal with Italy and the gold medal in Ankara in the Nations League, also in the Azzurri.
With the Prosecco DOC Imoco jersey, Marina has won 13 trophies in three seasons, including all the last 9 available. Since Lubian wears the Panthers’ jersey, he has not only excelled in the CEV Champions League 2023, he has ridden the wave of general growth of the club, contributing significantly to the latest successes. The central is also one of the three stars of coach Santarelli’s roster to boast a unique, historic and extraordinary laurel for our movement: together with Monica De Gennaro and Sarah Fahr she won gold at the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024.
Marina shone in the CEV Champions League as an added gem of the yellow-blue formation: she was named in the ideal sextet of the competition thanks to a remarkable contribution in the continental season. Ten appearances, 56 points, 16 point blocks and 8 aces in Europe, while in the season she reached and exceeded 100 appearances with the club, returning to the exclusive group of the centurion Panthers in which there are 16 other players in addition to her. Lubian, in the season, boasts an offensive percentage of over 64% and is the catapult of Prosecco DOC Imoco with 1.20 aces per game, the best gap among the yellow-blues. But his story at Palaverde is not over, he continues.
MARINA LUBIAN STATEMENTS
“In my fourth year as a Pantera I can certainly say that I feel part of a big family that welcomed me right away. I have grown a lot with this club and we have shared many beautiful emotions and victories together. I think there is still a lot to do and to work on for sure, but I also believe that I have matured a lot in recent years and that I have acquired more and more confidence in my means. We hope to achieve the same results at the team level, personally to be able to experience them a little more as a protagonist. I will spend the summer working on my physical condition, trying to solve some problems that I have been carrying with me for some time, with the confidence of always being available to the team for the season to come. And then of course I will also take care of mental well-being, which is fundamental for an athlete. To our magnificent fans I would like to say that I can’t wait to get back to rejoicing and screaming with them. The last few years have been fantastic, the arena was almost always full and they followed us everywhere, so I hope it will be the same for next year because they are our extra weapon!”
