“I am very happy to be able to return to Brazil to play such an important tournament for the club. This time I will not play with the jersey of my national team, but with that of Conegliano, my family and friends will be able to follow me closely finally also with the jersey of the Panthers. The Brazilian fans are crazy about volleyball, they have great passion, they follow the Italian championship a lot and I already know that there will be a sweet confusion at all our matches, with the arena always packed and many people who will always follow us. It will be exciting for me and I am convinced that the atmosphere that will surround us will be beautiful. Our goal at this World Cup remains the same as always, to reach the final and try to win the tournament, but the path will not be easy, indeed, it could prove more complicated than last year’s World Cup. There will be Savino del Bene Scandicci as the main competitor, our Italian rival and great team, then the Brazilian teams, always very prepared, competitive, and driven by the public, then a set of clubs that come from countries where volleyball is growing and taking space at an international level. I always find this competition fascinating, which is different from the others, you have to face teams from all over the world from one day to the next with players and ways of interpreting volleyball in a totally different way than we are used to, it will be stimulating, an opportunity to grow and learn something new”.
