The Women’s Volleyball League today announced the calendar of the LVF A1 Fineco: the Italian champions of Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano will return to the field for the first official match on October 4 in the away match on the field of Granda Volley Cuneo. The first match at the Palaverde delle Pantere is scheduled for October 11 in the match valid for the 2nd day of the championship against UYBA Busto Arsizio. The fourth day against Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri will be brought forward to 14 October, since on the weekend of 24-25 October the Panthers will be engaged in the Super Cup against Savino del Bene Scandicci. The first half of the season is marked by big away matches: 11 November midweek in Novara, 22 November in Milan, 6 December in Scandicci. The home match on December 26 is back, against the newly promoted Talmassons. Red circle in the second round for the now classic challenges with the main antagonists: on January 6 after the break comes Chieri with the former Lubian and Eckl, on January 31 there is Novara, while Vero Volley Milano (February 21) and Scandicci (March 7) will be the opponents in the final rush that will conclude the regular season on March 14 at the home of the other newly promoted Brescia. Dates and times are subject to change due to television needs or occupancy of the Palaverde.
This will be followed by the Scudetto play-offs which will see the best eight teams face each other with a two-legged formula and possible Golden Set in the quarter-finals, while the best-of-five formula for semi-finals and finals is confirmed.
DICHIARAZIONI COACH DANIELE SANTARELLI “The A1 calendar allows us to take only a first look at our season: the beginning is particular with a long trip to Cuneo a few days after the Courmayeur tournament, then we will embrace our fans again against Busto Arsizio at the Palaverde. We will have the opportunity to prepare well for the Super Cup in the midst of the matches against Chieri and Vallefoglia, brought forward and postponed on purpose, that will be the appointment on which we will focus in the first weeks, it is the first seasonal trophy up for grabs and fits already in the first days of the championship. It is a first half that is shaping up to be complicated and stimulating, given that we will face the big names all away. This means, consequently, that the second half could prove to be slightly easier on paper, when all the other Italian and international commitments will take over. We are waiting for all the Champions League joints to understand how the whole process will be composed: for now I feel like saying that, without the Club World Cup, with fewer midweek rounds and with the break at the turn of New Year’s Eve, the calendar is decidedly less busy than last year”.
As for the other LVF competitions, the Super Cup between Prosecco Doc A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano and Savino Del Bene Scandicci will be played on the weekend of 24-25 October at a venue yet to be defined, with the two teams anticipating and postponing the 4^ and 5^ first legs. The Coppa Italia Frecciarossa will begin with the quarterfinals scheduled for December 23 between the best eight qualified at the end of the first round and then end on the weekend of February 13-14 with the usual Final Four.
For each day of the championship, it will be possible to watch four or five matches for free: in fact, the usual coverage of Rai Sport will be joined by three matches broadcast on the social networks of the League, Club and athletes. Full coverage of the championship will instead be exclusive to DAZN.
