In the third edition of the “Match for memory” in Longarone, Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano beats CDA Volley Talmassons FVG, in the fourth test of the pre-season.
It is the first match of coach Santarelli, who returned during the week after the summer commitments with Turkey, the sextet plays Di in the direction, Adigwe opposite, Sillah and Piovesan bands, Folie and Manfredini in the center, De Gennaro the libero.
Prosecco DOC immediately starts with great intensity and, thanks to an excellent serving turn by Adigwe, quickly moves to 7-2, forcing Talmassons to the first time-out. Piovesan stands out in attack, while Manfredini signs the point of 10-4. The panthers continue to maintain a good advantage and, again thanks to Adigwe’s serve, they reach 16-12. Conegliano definitively takes control of the partial, reaches 21-14 and closes the set 25-19 with a first half by Folie.
The second set is also dominated by the Panthers, who immediately start ahead 3-1 and progressively increase the advantage. The Panthers manage to double Talmassons’ score first at 10-5 and then at 12-6. Adigwe is still the protagonist with 5 points, while Manfredini scores 4, contributing to the team’s escape. Conegliano reaches 18-14 and then 22-15, until it closes without particular difficulty at 25-17 thanks to a serving error by the opponents.
Talmassons reacts and faces the partial with greater determination, initially taking it to 1-2. The challenge remains balanced until 6-6, then Sillah allows Conegliano to find the first important break at 9-7. The Panthers manage to maintain the advantage thanks above all to the attacks of Folie and Adigwe, reaching 17-14 and then 20-17. Talmassons does not give up and gets closer to 22-21, but Conegliano remains lucid in the final: Folie signs the 24-22 and Piovesan puts the decisive ball on the ground of 25-22, giving the Panthers the 3-0 victory.
The match will end after a fourth set of training agreed by the benches that will see Talmassons impose itself (18-25), in a partial in which coach Santarelli also involved the very young Julia Gordon and the libero Arici.
