CHAMPIONS LEAGUE DRAWS, A.CARRARO IMOCO DEFENDING CHAMPIONS WITH RESOVIA (POL), PLOVDIV (BUL) AND ONE FROM PRELIMINARIES

The draws for the 2024/25 edition of the CEV Champions League were staged today at the CEV headquarters in Luxembourg, with A.Carraro Imoco Volleyball in the first bracket as the holder of the title won in Antalya on May 5. Imoco Volleyball, which plays in the Champions with the “naming” Antonio Carraro, from the Luxembourg urn was placed in Group A and the draw assigned the defending champion Panthers the Polish Developres Resovia, by now a classic opponent for Conegliano in the Champions, the Bulgarian champions Plovdiv and a team that will emerge in October from the preliminary qualifying round between the Bosnian ZOK Gacko and Croatian Mladost Zagreb.

The groups of the group stage that will start on Nov. 6 and will end in January will still be five pools of four teams each as in the last editions, with direct promotion to the quarterfinals for the first-place finishers and a barrage between the second-place finishers and the best third to determine the other three quarterfinal qualifiers with round-robin matches (between March 4 and 13, ’25).
Instead, the final stage changes; there will no longer be a SuperFinal, but a return to the Final Four format, at a single venue on May 3 and 4, 2025, the four quarterfinal winners will compete for the title of European Champion.
