The Operation Club World Cup for Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano kicked off this morning from Marco Polo Airport in Venice. The champions of Italy and Europe are flying to China, with a stopover in Shanghai and then reaching Hangzhou by coach where, starting Tuesday, the review will begin with 8 teams from five continents competing for the title of World Champion in the Huanglong Sports Center arena, capable of 8000 seats. For the rainbow review, Conegliano’s team has an exceptional partner, the Veneto Region, which will be proudly represented by the Panthers in China, where there is spasmodic anticipation for the return of home idol Zhu Ting, Conegliano’s Chinese setter, who has not played an official match in her home country for years.
“Today in Venice, together with the Panthers of Prosecco DOC Imoco Volleyball we take to the floor to promote the beauty of our region in China. In fact, with the recent launch of the new Venice-Shanghai air route, the Veneto region opens further to the world, consolidating its role as a bridge between East and West. This connection represents an extraordinary opportunity to enhance the beauty of the region and strengthen the link between tourism and sports, two fundamental pillars of the regional culture and economy.”
This is how Veneto Region Tourism Councillor Federico Caner, under the plane that will take the yellow-blue team to Shanghai, for an evocative and hopefully auspicious souvenir photo of this event, greets the Prosecco DOC Imoco athletes departing for the Chinese city of Hangzhou, where the FIVB 2024 Women’s Volleyball World Championship will be held.
The Veneto Region is partnering with Prosecco DOC Imoco Volleyball for their adventure in the Club World Cup: all matches will be broadcast live on DAZN and on Volleyballworld.tv (subscription required). The champions of Prosecco DOC Imoco are not only protagonists on the courts, but from today they become true ambassadors of Veneto in the world. Thanks to their successes, these players help promote the image of a dynamic, competitive and hospitable region.”
“Increasingly engaged in international competitions, female volleyball players embody the values of determination, teamwork and passion, and with their energy they attract fans and sportsmen from every corner of the planet ,” the councilor concludes. and the new Venice-Shanghai route adds a key piece to this strategy. It is now even easier for Asian tourists to follow live the matches of Prosecco DOC Imoco Volleyball, visit the beauty of Veneto and immerse themselves in the local culture thanks to this collaboration, which demonstrates Veneto’s ability to transform sport into a driver for tourism. World-class events are unmissable opportunities to visit the region, generating a significant economic inducement and consolidating it as a top tourist destination.”
