After almost a month away, the Panthers return to the Palaverde. It is the last challenge before Christmas, the Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano first in the standings hosts the Omag-Mt San Giovanni in Marignano for the 3rd day of the second round. Show for the public: in the intervals between sets Eudora Violinist plays, the cowboy of Old Wild West shoots the t-shirts during the time-outs and the yellow-blues enter the field accompanied by the girls of the S3 grassroots activity of Imoco Volley.
Coach Daniele Santarelli changes his sextet for the match against the Romagna team: Ewert in the direction with Adigwe opposite, Gabi and Zhu are the spikers, Chirichella and Lubian are the middles, Scognamillo is the libero. On the other side, coach Bellano chooses Straube, Brancher, Zhuang, Nardo, Kochurina, Caruso and Tellone libero.
In the opening it is Chirichella’s block to give the first break point to the yellow-blues (4-2), Ewert marks the ace of 7-4 and Zhu manages to score even with the block (12-9). Ewert eludes the opponent’s front line for another mini stretch (15-13), then San Giovanni in Marignano returns with arrogance in the match to take the lead: a perfect service turn by Gabi brings parity to 21, Adigwe blocks for the overtaking and gives the set point to the Panthers which she herself immediately transforms into 1-0 with the ace of 25-23 (7 points in the set for the young opposite, she will close as top scorer at 17).
The Panthers multiply to bring home the 4th point of the second set, it is the prelude to another heated partial: Lubian blocks for the first advantage (6-5), we travel on the razor’s edge until Gabi makes a big voice to break the balance (15-14, 5 points in the set for the carioca with 100%). Lubian and Adigwe echo her (20-16), the Cremasca takes the chair in the final points of the set as happened in the first, Zhu closes the accounts with a champion shot (5-0 in the final to go 2-0 on 25-17, 12 in the end for the Chinese champion with the title of MVP).
Adigwe also rides the wave in the opening of the third set while San Giovanni in Marignano remains combative and on the piece (4-7), it is Gabi who closes the megarally of the evening (8-10, 13 points with 54% in attack). Wolosz and Haak take over the diagonal when Prosecco DOC chases (11-13), Daalderop gives Zhu a breather and Gabi churns out another sleight of hand (13-15). It is Haak who fixes parity (15-15), Lubian blocks for the break point of 18-16 (the Olympic champion dominates in the final, she closes with 10 centers): upon returning to the court Adigwe has the right lucidity (21-17), Munarini enters to clean up the serve, the Panthers sail towards victory and close on 25-19.
The holiday season is also full of appointments for Prosecco DOC: the championship does not stop, on Saturday 27 December there is the away match against Numia Vero Volley Milano, while on Sunday 4 January 2026 in A1 begins with another big match against Igor Gorgonzola Novara at Palaverde, kick-off at 18 and online presale on Vivaticket.com.
