Climate of great occasions at the Palaverde: Game-3 of the Scudetto Finals between Prosecco DOC Imoco Conegliano and Numia Vero Volley Milano is the first opportunity for the Panthers to close the series of the Scudetto Finals. In the first two matches of the series, Prosecco DOC Imoco won with a score of 3-1 in Game-1 in front of the Palaverde fans, while last Saturday at the Unipol Forum in Assago it ended 3-0 for the yellow-blues. The series is played in the best of five challenges, possible Game-4 on Friday 25 April at 6 pm at the Allianz Cloud in Milan: on the field, as in the other 7 seasonal matches between the two international star teams and Olympic champions on both sides. The match is also an opportunity to celebrate another milestone for Moki De Gennaro, who with tonight’s one collects his 500th appearance in the yellow-blue.
Before the race, however, a minute of silence is observed for the death of Pope Francis, the 266th pontiff of the Catholic Church. The match, like the first two matches of the series, gives another wonderful audience with the ninth sell-out of the season at the Palaverde.
Great gala of volleyball stars on the court: coach Daniele Santarelli deploys the diagonal Wolosz-Haak, Gabi and Zhu are the bands, Fahr and Chirichella the middle, De Gennaro the libero. On the other side, coach Stefano Lavarini proposes the diagonal Orro-Egonu, Cazaute and Daalderop are the middles, Danesi and Kurtagic are the middles, Fukudome is the libero.
Ready to go and Haak marks the start, on the first advantage of the Panthers he scratches four times (7-6). The bagher point scored by De Gennaro (14-10, leads the team reception at 63%) is incredible, before Prosecco DOC Imoco had dug the furrow even with a block by Gabi. Lukasik enters at the best time for Milan, then the Brazilian thinks again to expand the margin with two lightning-fast stabs (18-15). Zhu enters the scene in the twilight of the partial (21-19, he will also be decisive in the second line on Sylla), then it is always the best friends Gabi and Haak to pack the 1-0 (15 combined in the first set), with two providential calls to coach Santarelli’s videocheck. Egonu misses for 25-22.
Hats off again for Isabelle Haak, 4 points and a block at 9-5 in the second set in the break in which the Panthers try to direct the partial; after a lot of dirt on the wall Fahr enters the scoreboard (15-11, third offensive violin in the second set), the Panthers spit out all the cannons of the Numia Vero Volley forwards, while Haak does not cease to breathe fire (18-12 and first yellow-blue ace, 22 at the end for the Swede). There is still room for Bardaro from 9 meters, Gabi returns hot as a stove towards 2-0 (22-16): Haak brings the boat to port on 25-20 (8 for her also in the second set), Palaverde on fire.
The third set is lived point to point with a never tamed Milan at the Palaverde (11-12). Among the service errors, a Haak of epee and foil still stands out (13-13), there is the signature of Gabi in the first break of the Prosecco DOC Imoco of the set (17-15, also a block for the Brazilian who will close as MVP of the finals and 16 points). It is again Gabi who finds the opponent’s reception careless by hitting the ace (21-17), Fahr capitalizes on a chocolate from Wolosz (5 points at the end), it is only the prelude before the final point, where the joy of the Palaverde and all the fans is unleashed.
