Big match on Sunday of Serie A1 Tigotà: at the Pala Gianni Asti in Turin the Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 hosts the Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano. The third and first in the class compete, 3 important points are up for grabs with a view to play-off placement now that we have reached the 6th day of the second round. The two teams will meet in Turin in two weekends for the Final Four of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa, the great Italian volleyball is entering the heart of the season.

Coach Daniele Santarelli has chosen his sextet of the day: Wolosz in the direction and Haak opposite, Gabi and Zhu in the band, Fahr and Chirichella in the center, De Gennaro is the libero. In place of Marina Lubian, who remained in Conegliano to treat her ankle problem, at the disposal of the staff there is Giorgia Orso, spiker born in 2008 of Cortina Express Imoco San Donà. On the other hand, coach Negro, former player of the day, relies on van Aalen, Németh, Kunzler, Nervini, Cekulaev, Gray and Spirito libero. On the field stars of blue and international volleyball in the warm atmosphere of the Pala Asti in Turin.

Panthers with their foot on the accelerator at the beginning: Gabi’s first point is worth 4-9, Fahr’s block had already dug a furrow (3-6). Zhu shows up in defense in attack (5-11), Haak presses the block to return to +6 after Chieri’s reaction (8-14, 5 points and 1 block in the set). With Chirichella’s 12-16 captain Wolosz sent all his teammates to score, Scognamillo reinforces the reception and the yellow-blue defense. Scorching final set, Chieri has energy and points in his hands to surprise the Panthers, who fall to 25-22.

It is Gabi who shakes the team after a difficult start to the second set (4-3), Zhu completes the mini-comeback to put the partial back in balance. Haak has excellent percentages in attack (14-13), Zhu’s block is worth the first Prosecco DOC advantage in the set (20-21, 7 centers for the Chinese with 60% offensive, she will close with 19 points, 2 blocks and 50% in attack): Haak’s ace is worth the 21-23 stretch, at the first set ball Adigwe, who has just entered, brings back parity with 21-25.

Sillah is coach Santarelli’s move when the Panthers have to chase in the third set, Haak’s winning serve puts Prosecco DOC on -3 (10-7), Ewert and Adigwe take over the starting diagonal when Chieri is in control of the partial (17-9). And so Zhu keeps the pace high on a personal level (14-22), while Adigwe finds a winning serve (16-23), Daalderop churns out a good serve, but Chieri realizes and passes to 2-1.

Double Gabi and Haak, Conegliano starts by going 0-3; Zhu breaks the offensive monologue of the carioca and the Swede (5-7), then Bella finds a great serve for 6-10. Daalderop fixes the reception of the Prosecco DOC, Fahr puts down a great first half (12-16). Haak unloads balls darting profusely (she will close the match with 23 points, 3 aces and 1 block), Gabi also dominates the partial in her own way (16-20, in the set the Brazilian places 7 with 1 block), Chirichella messes up the opponent’s reception and the Panthers have 7 set balls, the second by Fahr is the good one for 2-2 (18-25).

And tie-break it is, the third of the yellow-blue championship: Fahr finds the ace for the first significant advantage (1-4), Daalderop’s precise serves and defenses are needed on +2 (4-6), Zhu finds a point of capital importance for 9-12. Haak consecrates the +3 immediately after, the Prosecco DOC completes the comeback and wins with Gabi’s matchpoint (12-15, it is point number 17 of the Brazilian’s match) . It is the 18th victory of the Prosecco DOC championship, which remains first in the standings with a comeback victory.

Two home matches await captain Wolosz and his teammates: on Thursday 15 January at the Palaverde there is the CEV Zeren Group Champions League match against Dresden (20.30), while on Saturday 17 they return to the friendly walls to receive Bergamo in the league (20.30).
