SERENA SCOGNAMILLO STATEMENTS
“It was an unexpected call from Conegliano, which is why when it arrived it was a moment of great emotion and satisfaction, at first I couldn’t believe it. Prosecco DOC Imoco is a reality that is writing history, and becoming part of it is a dream come true, from A2 it is a big leap and it will certainly not be easy, but I am ready and charged. The difference in level is substantial and right away I will have to work hard to adapt to this category, I am very determined to do my best and also very curious to relate to a level of this caliber. I know it will be a huge challenge, but also a great opportunity for growth; I am here to make myself available and learn as much as possible from the champions I will have in the team.
I know the commitment and professionalism of Conegliano that distinguish a model club, with its history of success and the passion of the public that I am very curious to know. I have already played with Matilde Munarini, in the youth paths I shared some experiences in the national team with Sarah Fahr and Marina Lubian, who have been here for a few years now. I will certainly contact them to take some information and settle in as soon as possible.
The first people with whom I shared the news of my signing with Conegliano were undoubtedly my mother and my sister, they are my greatest support. They were incredulous and euphoric right away when they found out. Then little by little I talked about it with the other people I trusted and closest to me, who were just as happy for me.
I am curious about the experience in a reality that is writing history, having the opportunity to see how it is to work at such a high level, in a company that has so much ambition, it will all be new to me, everything excites and intrigues me at the same time. For example, playing international competitions will be something new for me, without a doubt this is one of the things that intrigue me the most. Participating in the Champions League or the World Cup will really be like living a dream and I can’t wait. It is a unique opportunity to be able to see the best of world volleyball and consequently to be able to learn a lot. I am sure that such an experience will greatly enrich my personal baggage. I have not yet met Monica De Gennaro in person and I must admit that I can’t wait, I think that for any libero the idea of being able to work with Monica, who is a monument in this role, is a privilege. I’m sure I can learn a lot by having the opportunity to train with her every day.
If I have to describe myself, I am a determined and competitive player, I like to work hard in the gym and I strongly believe that results can only be achieved with sacrifices and hard work.
At the moment I am in Rome with my family, and I am spending this period here between studying, training and enjoying my city and my family who I live little during the season. Surely during the summer there will be time for a little vacation and then land at the Palaverde as soon as possible and start this incredible journey with maximum charge and energy”.
