First against second on the Sunday of the championship, the Prosecco DOC A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano welcomes the Savino del Bene Scandicci in the sold out of the Palaverde. It is the remake of the last Champions League final, on the field international champions to compete for three points for the 10th day of the A1 Regular Season.

The initial sextets: coach Daniele Santarelli relies on captain Wolosz in the direction, Haak is the opposite; Gabi and Sillah are the spikers, Fahr and Chirichella the middles, De Gennaro is the libero. Coach Marco Gaspari, formerly on duty, deploys the diagonal Ognjenovic-Antropova, Skinner and Bosetti are the 4 places, Graziani and Weitzel play in the center, Castillo is the libero. Players of 9 nationalities will be on the field, with four Olympic champions with Julio Velasco’s Italy.

The first set is played on an equal footing between the two teams, which between “megarally” and full-court defenses keep the balance: after the first break suffered (13-15), the Panthers compact and find Fahr’s clean serve, in the 5-0 that gives the break towards 19-16 there is the hand of Haak from seat 2 and from the block. The central players stand out on Sunday at the Palaverde, with 21 points and 4 blocks combined. Adigwe and Ewert take over the diagonal, Scognamillo is there in the second row in the hot moments, it is Gabi who scores most of the important points at the end, including the set point of 25-22. Carioca from 6 points in the half, 0 errors in attack and 60% efficiency .

The second set lives like an accordion: Sillah leads the Panthers to the first advantage (9-8), after a super defense by De Gennaro Haak stings with 12-10. The yellow-blues remain ahead after a super serve by the Swede (20-17), and a block by Chirichella (21-17). But Scandicci has the lucidity and strength not to give up with Skinner and Antropova, quick to block for 23-25. Neneh Sillah shines in the partial with 8 points and 61% in attack, she will close with 18.

Wolosz and her teammates take a while to find the temperature in the third set, they succeed when coach Santarelli calls the only interruption of the partial, Haak leads the attack towards the first advantage (12-11) and a decisive break later 19-17. The Swede leads the Panthers to 2-1 with 7 points and 2 blocks, 4 monster blocks in the set for the hosts. Sillah still has gas for 21-20, Gabi is glacial when it counts, with the set point of 25-22. There are 4 yellow-blue forwards over double figures, Fahr scores 9 with 1 block, Wolosz is MVP in the big match.

The Panthers still have fire to pour on the taraflex in the fourth set, when Gabi pushes 8-5 to the ground and Chirichella packs the 13-9 block. At that point Santarelli’s crew proceeds with full sail towards the three points that give them the title of winter champion: Haak hammers until the end, even breaking through with the match point of 25-16. Opposite top scorer of the match with 22 points, 3 blocks and 42% in attack .

The Panthers’ journey in November at the Palaverde does not stop: on Wednesday at 8 pm the Eurotek Laica UYBA arrives, on Saturday 22 there is the match against Il Bisonte Firenze, on Tuesday 25 the CEV Zeren Group Champions League begins against Ankara Zeren Spor.
