OPERATION FINAL FOUR FRECCIAROSSA ITALIAN CUP – SEMI-FINAL VS IGOR NOVARA TOMORROW IN BOLOGNA!

The Panthers of Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley have landed in Bologna today for the Frecciarossa Italian Cup Final Four event, which will take place at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio di Reno (Bo) on Saturday, February 8th, and Sunday, February 9th.
Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano will challenge Igor Gorgonzola Novara tomorrow (Saturday) in the first semi-final at 3:30 PM, followed by Savino Del Bene Scandicci vs. Numia Vero Volley Milano at 6:00 PM. Both matches will be broadcast live on Rai Sport and streamed on Volleyballworld.tv (subscription required).
The grand final on Sunday, February 9th, will be aired starting at 3:20 PM on Rai 2, as well as on VBW as usual.

Approximately 700 tickets have been booked by yellow and blue fans for the two-day event in Bologna.
Coach Santarelli will have the full team available for the Frecciarossa Italian Cup Final Four.

PREVIOUS ENCOUNTERS WITH NOVARA – In the semi-final, the Panthers will face Igor Novara, their most frequent opponent in yellow and blue history, with a total of 53 previous matches, 41 wins for Conegliano, and 13 for Novara. In the Italian Cup, there have already been 7 previous matches, with 4 wins for the Venetians and 3 for the Piedmontese.

FORMER PLAYERS – From the Piedmontese side, the former players in this match are the middle blocker Federica Squarcini, who was in Conegliano until last season, and the libero Eleonora Fersino. On the Prosecco DOC Imoco side, there’s Cristina Chirichella, who has played with her for the last ten seasons.

HISTORY
-The yellow and blue club is at its tenth participation, ninth consecutive, in the national cup’s Final Four, having so far collected 6 victories, including the last five consecutively: in 2017 in Florence in the final against Piacenza, in 2020 in Busto Arsizio in the final against the home team, in 2021 in Rimini, and in 2022 in Rome, both times concluding with victories over Novara. In 2023, again at the Unipol Arena in Casalecchio, they won the final against Vero Volley Milano, and in 2024, they secured their fifth consecutive win in Trieste in the final against Vero Volley Milano. In 2018 and 2019, they lost the finals in Bologna and Verona to Igor Novara. In 2015, during their first experience in the F4, the Panthers were eliminated in the semi-final in Rimini, again by Novara.
