On Saturday 19 September 2026, at 6.00 pm, at the Palasport in Longarone, Prosecco DOC Imoco Volley and C.D.A. Talmassons Volley will meet in the “Match for Memory”, included in the program of celebrations for the 63rd anniversary of the Vajont disaster.
The initiative confirms the desire to combine sport and memory, involving the territory and especially the new generations in a moment of participation and sharing.
“The Match for Remembrance has become a significant event,” underlines Roberto Padrin, President of the Vajont 9 October 1963 Foundation . “Sport knows how to unite people, create communities and transmit values such as respect, commitment and responsibility. It is also through initiatives like this that the memory of Vajont can continue to speak to young people.”
The General Manager Mauro Carazzai adds: “We want the memory of Vajont to be a living memory, not limited only to commemorative moments. Bringing it into a major sporting event means bringing it closer to families and young people, transforming the memory into knowledge and responsibility for the future”.
The Match for Memory is promoted with the involvement of the Vajont 9 October 1963 Foundation, the Municipality of Longarone and Longarone Fiere Dolomiti.
