Saturday evening of volleyball to put the hat on the Regular Season. Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco Conegliano hosts and beats Wash4Green Monviso Volley 3-1 for the 13th day of the return of Serie A1 Tigotà. It is the 25th victory of the Panthers in the championship, which closes with 72 points: for the fourth season in a row Prosecco DOC slips a haul of at least 70 points which earns it the victory of the first phase of the A1. Next weekend it is already play-off time: the yellow-blues will challenge Eurotek Laica UYBA, eighth placed, hosting it at the Palaverde for Game-1 of the quarterfinals.
Special evening for Asia Wolosz: the yellow-blue captain collects the 400th appearance with the Prosecco DOC jersey, second ever for matches played with Conegliano behind Monica De Gennaro. Prosecco DOC A. Carraro Imoco sides with AIL, the Italian Association for the fight against Leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, Treviso section.
The sextets: coach Daniele Santarelli does not go for the subtle and deploys captain Wolosz in the direction, Haak opposite, Gabi and Zhu spikers, Fahr and Lubian central, De Gennaro is the libero. Matilde Munarini is absent from the race list, still struggling with a problem with her little finger. On the other side, coach Nica chooses Battistoni and Kindermann in the diagonal, D’Odorico and Davyskiba are the 4 places, Akrari and Dodson are the middle, Moro is the libero.
Tight pace in the first set: Panthers break with Lubian (4-2), Wolosz stamps scoring with first intention (8-6). Super saves by Scognamillo are needed for Haak’s 10-7 (9 points with 66% in the first set for the Swede), Akrari responds to Lubian with the fast (15-11). Daalderop makes Zhu breathe again in the second line, Battistoni draws two winning serves and Adigwe enters to give centimeters to the wall (22-20): Fahr’s shoulder with the block and the first half, closes on 25-22. Nine points with 53% and 2 blocks for the middle blocker in the match.
On one side the block of Fahr and Haak, on the other the serve of D’Odorico, start of the second set at 8-8. Zhu imitates her teammates (6 points, 1 block and 71% in attack for the Chinese in the second), another ace by Davyskiba and D’Odorico (13-16). Haak returns to roll but Monviso is already on +4 (15-19, 22 points, 1 ace, 1 block for the opposite who closed with 76%): double change with the entry of Ewert and Adigwe, Daalderop to guarantee service and defense, Meme shortens with the ace (21-23). Haak cancels a set point, then Davyskiba fixes the 1-1 (22-25).
