More than 1,500 people, perhaps 2,000 yellow-blue hearts greeted the arrival of the three Olympic gold medalist Panthers, Monica De Gennaro, Sarah Fahr, Marina Lubian and Brazilian superstar Gabi, bronze medalist in Paris, today in a morning of enthusiasm and passion.
Maximum decibels after practice for the presentation of the team, now almost full given the only absences of Japan’s Seki (arrives Sunday) and China’s Zhu (will be in Conegliano in October).
Great warmth and affection from the public for the newcomers and confirmations in an “all-star” roster that is fueling fans’ dreams ahead of a season that will see the Panthers facing five different stages, starting with the Supercup on October 28 in Rome and then continuing with the Championship (the premiere of the Prosecco DOC Imoco defending champions on October 6 at Palaverde with UYBA), the Coppa Italia, the Champions League and the World Club Championship in December in China.
Also present at this morning’s event at Palaverde were the “naming sponsors,” in the person of Prosecco DOC Consortium President Giancarlo Guidolin and A.Carraro and Imoco Group President Maurizio Maschio, “escorted” by Imoco Volleyball President Piero Garbellotto. After the roaring applause of the audience and the classic ritual toast strictly based on Prosecco DOC, captain Wolosz and companions participated in the media time with the journalists present and then granted autographs and selfies to young and old who experienced this first, exciting day at Palaverde.
